Glest is a 3D strategy game in real time, available for several operative systems and that can be modified using XML and a set of tools.

This game was developed by Spanish programmers, is an open source project where we can choose among two factions for combat in the mediaeval world: technological or magical.

So far the game offers two game modes, Game, where we can configure everything related to the game, resources, maps, etc. and Scenario, where the game offers certain situations in which we have to combat and be victorious.

Glest offers to us several tools in its official site, for creating and designing units and also maps. Additionally to being open source, it gives us very wide flexibility.

It has two inconveniences, the first one is that the online mode is not finished yet, even though it is advanced, and the second one is that the games cannot be saved, having to start from zero in the scenarios we want to play.
