WinZip Self-Extractor is a complement of the well known WinZip compressor. With WinZip you will be able to create compressed files of any file or folder. What this complement does is it creates a self-extracting Zip file, inserting a decompressor inside of the ZIP file that could be executed in any computer, even if it does not have the programme installed.
The self-extracting Zip can optionally execute a programme of “configuration” or “setup”, provided by the creator, after the files have been decompressed. Because of that it is ideal for electronic distribution, because they can have multiple compressed files, minimising download times and ensuring that important files do not get separated.
In each file you can configure a welcome message, a particular icon and what file should it execute once decompression is finished, which is really comfortable when making installers.
